Toasted bread slices with hemp seeds

I love this breakfast when I am in a hurry and I want in any case to eat something healthy, sweet and filling. 

You need two or three wholemeal rusks, honey (in this case I used a sunflower organic honey) and a spoon of peeled hemp seeds. I suggest you to add a seasonal fresh fruit and a cup of coffee or tea and semi-skimmed milk.

This breakfast is complete because contain all macronutrients you need to start an energetic day: carbohydrates, fat, protein and fiber.

Rusks are rich in complex carbohydrates and fiber; sunflower honey is rich in simple carbohydrates; fruits are rich in simple carbohydrates and fiber too; peeled hemp seeds are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acid such as Ω3 and Ω6 and in essential amino acids for the protein synthesis.

Tips

I usually take a spoonful of seeds everyday because they have important functional property in daily nutrition. Specifically, hemp seeds have an high quantity of protein (almost 30 gr every 100 gr) that are important for our muscle mass and “good fats” which have an important antinflammatory effect.

Moreover the taste is very good!

I suggest you to use seeds into the yogurt, mixed in a salad or over a vegetable soup.
