Healthy Nutrition

Food is the simplest and most immediate tool with which each individual can determine the quality of his or her present and future health. According to the doctors of antiquity it is our first medicine.

A healthy and balanced diet can, together with other factors, help the body prevent various diseases that today represent the main causes of mortality both in Italy and in Europe.

Nutrition is a preventative factor. For this reason, it is good to orientate ourselves as soon as possible towards the consumption of quality food and adopt the rules that allow for a healthy diet.

Nowadays, those who shop without paying attention to the origin of food risk putting a long list of traces of chemical substances in the food, all more or less toxic to humans: fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, along with food. , antibiotics, prions, hormones and other drugs with which slaughter and dairy animals are normally treated, in the case of food of animal origin.

We must not forget a robust list of additives used in the various stages of preparation: preservatives, antioxidants, anti-affirming, coloring, flavoring. Adults, and even less children, are unable to digest this type of substance, which should therefore not be present in the dishes.

Symposium of Functional Medicine and Nutrition

Rome, Nov 15-16-17, 2019

Participating in this Symposium was very exciting for me because it is the first major event I attended as a Nutritionist. I felt part of a group of professionals who have the same thought and the same desire to put into practice what the scientific evidence is supporting even in the nutritional field.

Functional medicine is spreading exponentially in other states such as the United States, England and New Zealand. Here in Italy we are still in its infancy, but the desire to get involved and spread it is very strong.

During the Symposium, foreign and Italian professionals of high level and culture in functional medicine, such as Dr. Fasano, Dr. Bevacqua and Dr. O’Brian – to name a few – had their speech .

Tips for Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by a genetic predisposition that causes strong systemic inflammation and an alteration of the immune system. It can affect the skin, nails, scalp, genital tract and joints.

Psoriatic symptoms can be triggered or increased in certain situations: stress, impaired intestinal function (leaky gut or SIBO), consumption of certain foods with an immunogenic and pro-inflammatory effect, pharmacological treatments or a lack of micronutrients (vitamin D, vitamins of group B, Magnesium, …), presence of bacterial, viral or fungal infections (they activate the immune system).
