Heart

The heart is the main organ of the circulatory system; it is the most delicate but it is also the most resistant because it is made up of the body’s most resistant fibers.

The heart is a very efficient pump, but over a million Americans (for example) die of heart disease every year.

Some of the major diseases that relate to the heart are coronary thrombosis, coronary artery occlusion, coronary sclerosis and stroke.

A nutritionally balanced diet is important for the efficiency of the heart. Foods rich in protein, fruit, fresh vegetables and whole grains should take the place in the diet of large intakes of refined grains, sweets and hydrogenated fats.
